Volumetric weight in three steps

  1. 1. Measure your carton in cm (L × W × H) and multiply — that's cubic centimeters per carton.
  2. 2. Divide by the mode's divisor: air 6000, express 5000 (per carton, then × quantity). For sea, divide by 1,000,000 to get CBM.
  3. 3. Compare with actual weight — the carrier charges whichever is higher. That number is your chargeable weight.
ModeFormulaBilled inDivisor
Air freightL×W×H (cm) × qtykg÷ 6,000
Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS)L×W×H (cm) × qtykg÷ 5,000
Sea LCLL×W×H (cm) × qtyCBM (m³)÷ 1,000,000
Why this matters: 10 cartons of plush toys weigh 90 kg but take 1.6 CBM — air charges 266 kg, express charges 320 kg. Big-but-light cargo pays for space, not weight. Our quotes always state the basis (CBM or chargeable kg) in writing, so you're never surprised.

أسئلة المشتين

+Which is cheaper, air or sea?

By weight, air runs $3.5–8/kg from China; sea LCL runs roughly $45–90 per CBM. Below ~300 kg or in a hurry, air wins; above 2 CBM, sea almost always wins. Between 10–15 CBM, ask us to quote both LCL and a full container.

+Why is express divided by 5000 but air by 6000?

Express networks pack denser planes and apply a stricter divisor — they charge for space more aggressively. Same carton costs ~17% more as express chargeable weight than air.

+How do I lower my volumetric weight?

Smaller cartons, denser packing, compressible goods vacuum-packed. Our warehouse repacks and consolidates multiple suppliers to squeeze every CBM — included free for 30 days.
